Andy Irons Died At 32


Andy Irons Died At 32: It is with heavy heart that we extend this news from Andy Irons premature death. Initial reports have the death after getting dengue Portugal Puerto Rico (which would make more sense knowing that PR is a tropical climate and outbreaks have been reported). On Sunday, Andy, 32, withdrew from the Rip Curl Pro Search Puerto Rico citing illness. According to reports yet to be confirmed, Andy was so sick he could not board his flight from Dallas to Kauai, got a hotel room, and he was found dead leaving behind a pregnant woman, family, and in the world full of friends and fans.

Andy will be greatly missed by all.

Andy took the ASP World Tour by storm and won the World Championship in 2002, 2003 and 2004. It will be recalled that the guy in the world that could consistently beat Kelly Slater and surfing the waves of consequence will live forever. Just this year, Andy was one of five surfers we chose to be in the movie Surf Transworld Surf, High Five. His last role was (awarded to the best rider of the stage) and perfectly displayed his tube riding skills and legendary rear hacks human scale.
