Zada Hossain Exploring The History Of Aleppo


Friends today we are going publish a profile of Zada Hossain. Zada belongs to Aleppo, Syria. She is student of high school. Zada tells that history is her favorite subject and she wants to share a little about her city. She writes in her email that Aleppo is a charming city in northern Syria recognized for being one of the 4 Syrian sites on the UNESCO’s world Heritage list. Located at the crossroads of several trade routes from the 2nd millennium B.C., and considered one of the oldest inhabited cities in the world, Aleppo was ruled successively by the Hittites, Assyrians, Arabs, Mongols, Mamelukes and Ottomans. For out world tourists Zada tells that being one of the oldest cities in the world the various tourist attractions in Aleppo comprises of many archeological sites. The Great Mosque, St. Simeons Basilica and the Citadel on the Hill are some of the major places of interests in the city.




Zada more writes that if we look back in the history of Aleppo, which will really amaze us. One of the most important historical Facts about Aleppo is that the city was under human settlement from as far as 5000 B.C. The Amorite dynasty was one of the first rulers of the place and it lost its dominance around 1600 B.C. From thereon in the city has undergone many phases of transformation from one rule to the other, which came in the form of Assyrian, Greek and Persian rule. For shopping lovers Zada tells that there are many traditional and modern markets in Aleppo, which are an essential part of Aleppo Tours.
